Deacon Joseph Green Obituary

On the beautiful spring day of April 5, 1950, Joseph Colton Green was born to Reese M. Green and Bernadette Wiltz Green. He was the third child born to this union, in Youngsville, Louisiana. The family moved to Dayton, Texas in 1957 where he graduated high school. After high school, he worked for Brown & Root under The Local Eighteen Union. He then began a career with Warren Petroleum in MT. Belview, Texas for thirteen years. He later decided to change his career path and become a truck driver. He drove eighteen-wheelers through forty-eight states for the next ten years. For the next fourteen years, he worked for ReedHycalog. After twelve years of service, he retired from Nation Oilwell Varco. Not being one to spend his retirement aimlessly, Joseph took on a part-time job at Kroger’s in the fuel center. During his leisure time, he enjoyed playing dominoes, barbecuing, watching football, and going fishing. Joseph was a member of The Crossing Community Church; under the leadership of Reverend Harvey M. Walker and Minister Luetta Walker for eighteen years. He then became a member of Faith Temple Church of God In Christ; under the leadership of S. A. Grant in 2013. He became a deacon and served in the pastor’s aid department. On Wednesday, February 6, 2019, Joseph C. Green entered into eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, two grandsons, and one great-grandson. Joseph leaves to cherish his memory; his loving and devoted wife Dorothy M. Green of 44 years. His children Jacqueline Chapman (Loycie), and his baby girl Erica E. Green. His grandchildren Nicholette, Ashley, Ryan, Chelsea, Brandon, Joshua, and Trinity. His great-grandchildren Miraya, Ryan Jr, Miah, Neveah, Aiyana, Chance, and Meelah. His siblings; Doris Triggs, (Lawrence) Tamera DeRouen, Karen Asson, (Terry) and his only brother Reese Green Jr. (Rita) and a host of family and friends.
