The Life of Lewis Johnson
Lewis was born to Joe and Lucille Johnson in Beaumont, Texas on August 12, 1943.
Lewis later moved to Orange, Texas where he attended Emma H. Wallace High School where he played football. He also played on an adult Softball team and was a great lover of all sports.
Lewis was baptized at an early age and attended the Greater St. Matthews Baptist Church.
Lewis was a welder by trade and supervised many on the jobs that he worked on. Work required Lewis to travel both in Texas and many other States.
Lewis remained faithful to his work and his church Greater St. Matthews Baptist Church until his untimely passing.
Lewis is preceded in death by both his parents, as well as his siblings, Alice Hill, Earnestine Jones, Charles Godfrey, and Roosevelt Davenport.
Lewis will forever be cherished by his loving wife, Mrs. Linda Johnson; three daughters, Pamela Cagle, Cynthia Johnson, and Shelia Johnson(Chris); one stepson, Shadrick Bogany(Vernice); three sisters, Mertis Lee, Earlene Ewing and Marjorie Allen (Boyce); seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; four very devoted friends, James Frances, Carl Brown, Harper and Helen Lee and a host of relatives and friends.
Lewis was affectionately called, "Pike" by his friends. He was protective of those he loved, and he always enjoyed a good laugh. He was confident, laid back, and enjoyed spending time with family. No gathering was complete without Lewis sharing stories of his childhood and growing up. Loved his friends and family, dancing and especially his wife. Lewis will be greatly missed.
