Mrs. Claudine Rector

Claudine Scott was born on July 4, 1927, to Prince and Lurene Scott in Wharton County.

She attended school in Boones Bend a community of Wharton County. At an early age, she accepted Christ and was baptized.

In 1945 she married Willie J. Rector and to this union, five children were born, Florence, Patricia, Carlton, Beatrice, and Delores. She later joined El Bethel Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Regley Monroe, Jr. 

Claudine retired from Rice University after 25 years of service. Her favorite hobbies were traveling, gardening, crafting, fishing, and spending time with family.

Claudine departed this life on Monday, October 28, 2019, at the age of 92.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie J. Rector, her parents, Prince and Lurene Scott, 5 brothers and 4 sisters.

Claudine leaves to cherish her memory: one son, Carlton Rector; four daughters, Florence Leonard (James), Patricia Brooks, Beatrice James (Otis) and Delores Monroe (Clarence); five grandchildren, Monica (Reginald), Derrick (Tanyalon), LaVonna (Brad), Crystal Stewart and Diondria Monroe; eleven great-grandchildren, Devan, Destiny, Khacia, Demaya, Brad, Reese, Deone, Jamar, KaMari, Braxton, and Lyndon, Jr.; one sister, Arlilia Taylor; and a host of relatives and friends.
