The Life Story of Our Beloved Shirley Smallwood
Shirley Smallwood was born on December 19, 1947, to John Willie Bryant and Marjorie Knowles. She was baptized at an early age and later joined Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.
She attended weekly bible study at Sugarland Methodist Church until death. Her favorite words were, "God knows my heart."
Shirley met and married Mr. Norris Smallwood from their union came a beautiful blended family. Throughout her life, Shirley faced many obstacles and challenges but with God, on her side, she never gave up. She was a devoted wife, she loved her family. She was called, "Mama Shirley" by many.
Shirley is preceded in death by both parents John Willie and Marjorie Bryant, sister Arline, brother Harold, stepson Darrell, and granddaughter Brittney Tompkins.
She leaves to honor and cherish her memory, her husband Norris Smallwood; 2 daughters Demetria (Henry) Tammy (Allen); son Reverend Troy Bryant (Lynne); two brothers Reginald (Phyllis)
and Timothy; ten grandchildren Chaz, Bria, Broderick, Brent, Brandon, T.J., Anna, Andrea, Sydney, and D.J.; three step-children, Kim, Cassandra (Dion) and Alton; two God-Children, Shaneccia and Louis (Deidre); and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, relatives, and friends; special friends Grace, Mrs. Baker, and Gail.
