Mr. Charles Hobley Obituary

Charles Walter Hobley was born on December 23, 1939, in Houston, Texas, to the proud parents of Keary Hobley Sr. and Pearl Ponder Hobley. He lived a life rooted in strength, service, and unwavering love for his family.

Charles received his early education in the Aldine Independent School District and was a proud graduate of George Washington Carver High School, renowned as a legendary athlete during his years there, earning lettering in basketball, football, and track. During his high school years, he met and married Ethel, and to this union, one son, Larry Charles, was born.
He continued his education on a scholarship at Texas Southern University. Shortly thereafter, he answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Army.

In 1959, Charles met and married the love of his life, Cornelia, embracing her son, Roderick Leon, as his own. To their union, one daughter, Leslie, was born. Through her love and prayers, Charles gave his life to Christ. He later became a member of Sheepfold Church of God in Christ and eventually moved his membership to Living Word Fellowship Church, where he faithfully attended until his health began to decline.

After his military service, Charles pursued a career in education, inspired by the meaningful impact his teachers had on his life. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to start his own company, All American Restaurant Repair Services Company, which he successfully operated for over 10 years. He later continued his professional journey as an engineer with the Harris County Hospital District, where he faithfully served until his retirement.

Charles had a passion for working with anything that had moving parts-from cars to computers. He also found great joy in amateur radio, which connected him with friends around the world. He was especially fond of his time with The Buckaroos 7248 Group, where he could often be heard talking "all day and half the night," building lasting friendships.

Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 beautiful years, Cornelia Hunter Hobley; his parents, Pearl and Keary Hobley Sr.; his brothers, Robert Hobley and Keary Hobley Jr.; his sister, Jesse Lee Wilks; his great-granddaughter, Angelica Warren; his daughter-in- law, Beverly Jarmon Holman; and his godson, Fredrick Foster.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory: his devoted daughter, Leslie Hobley Dever (Gregory); his sons, Larry Charles Bradley and Roderick Leon Holman; his godson, Fredrick Roberson (Evelyn); his grandsons, Christian Charles Hobley (Victoria) and Isaiah Bradley; his granddaughters, Charlissa Holman, Taleaha N. Bradley, Brianna M. Bradley, and Chauntae Grimes Hill (Marquis Sr.); his great-grandchildren, Lareya, Marquis Jr., Nia, Prallin, Amaya, Jayla, Ty, and Brazil; his loving sister, Alpha Mae Gamble and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Charles will be remembered for his strength, wisdom, and the love he poured into his family. Though he is no longer with us in body, his legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Resting now in eternal peace, reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife.
