Cyrus Jason Brooks, was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. He graduated from John McDonogh High School in 1993 and later attended Southern University at New Orleans.
He dedicated over 21 years of service to Comcast, where he was known for his strong work ethic and the lasting relationships he built throughout his career.
Cyrus lived by the motto "family first", a value he carried with him in everything he did. He was charismatic, funny, outgoing, loving , and deeply protective of those he cared about.
He enjoyed dancing, cooking , and listening to all genres of music. He had a special way of bringing joy into any room he entered. He will be remembered most for his beautiful smile with dimples, his jokes, and his genuine love for people. His presence will truly be missed by all who loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife of 20 years, Katrina Brooks; his mother, Reba Alfred Brumfield (Oscar Fernandez); his mother-in-law, Brenda Ann Edwards; his children, Breanne Brooks, Cyrus Brooks Jr., Logan Banks, Angel Sherman, Brennon Veals, and Dustin Brooks; his sisters, Rosealee Brumfield Boudreaux (Arthur Harris) and Mable B. Mattox (Joel Mattox); his cherished grandchildren, Truth R. Golden, Landon Marie Gains, and Noah Sherman; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Stanley R. Brooks; his daddy, Clarence Brumfield; his maternal grandparents, Rosealee Guy Alfred and Armand and Herman Brooks; and his aunts, Jean N. Joseph and Darlene Nelson.
