David L. Wilkins, Jr., a vibrant young man known for his magnetic personality, passed away on May 27, 2025, at the age of 23, in Katy, Texas. Born on June 23, 2001, in Dallas, Texas, to Roxanne Roy-Wilkins and David L. Wilkins Sr.
David's love for sports was evident from an early age. A natural born athlete, he attended Woodcreek Junior High School and later, Thompkins High School, where he showcased his athletic abilities in football, basketball, and track. His determination and sportsmanship were an inspiration to his coaches and peers. He was a loving son, and protective brother, a source of joy for everyone who knew him. David's affectionate persona and his ability to make anyone laugh will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
David was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Albert and Ella Roy, his Great Aunt, Hilda Slater, his cousin/brother, William Trey Ross IV, and his uncle, Lanny Roy III. He leaves to cherish his memories: his parents, father, David (Yolanda) Wilkins Sr. and his mother, Roxanne Roy-Wilkins; his paternal grandparents, Johnny and Betty Wilkins; bonus grandparents, Dr. Kenneth and Linda Daniels; his sister, Raven Wilkins; his bonus sister, Kendyl Scott; cousin/sisters, Dr. D'andrea (Patrick) Dorsey, Courtney Ceasar, and Bria Ceasar; cousin/brother Damon Roy, and his godmothers, Rachel (Andre') Ceasar and Ella Roy-Cooks; he also has a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
