Mr. Decebian R. Hartwell

Decebian Reynard Hartwell, affectionately known as "DC", entered this life on August 4, 1971, in Houston, TX, to Anita D'Neen Hartwell and the late James Hunt.  He graduated from Kashmere High School in 1990.  After high school, he attended Texas Southern University and later enlisted  in the United States Army, where he faithfully served for 10 years.  After retiring from the military, he worked for the United Stated Postal Service for 27 years and proudly served as a Union. Steward. 

Decebian began training at IMPROV as a comedian and later became well known for opening comedy shows as "DC the Comedian".  He was also an actor and appeared in the movie "O'SHEA", to name a few, "DC" starred in "Why I Hate Church Folks", "If You Love Me" "Smoke Screens", and "Will I Ever Love Again".  He also enjoyed producing his skits know as the "DC and Ms. Johnson Show".  In addition, Decebian was a valued member of Silverlake Church under the leadership of Pastor Reginald DeVaughn shortly after their marriage. 

Decebian was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Lucille Francies and Mildred Hartwell, and his grandfather, Rev. R.R. Hartwell.

To cherish his memory, he leaves his loving wife, Tara N. Hartwell; his mother, Anita Hartwell; his brother, Phillip Hartwell; his children, Dr. Avery Hartwell, Aerion Hartwell (Jenysis), and Alayshia Moshay (Eric) and his beloved granddaughter, Reign.  He also leaves behind his uncles, Tyrone Mims (Godfather), Frank Mims, Ronnie Hartwell, and Dr. Christopher Hartwell; his godmother, Debra Gentry; his gifted children, Autum, Alstin, and Aiyana; his gifted sisters-in-law, Rosa Davis and Sandra Gillespie (Rev. Jerome Gillespie); his gifted grother-in-law, Earnest Shepard (Perla); many cousins; and a host of dear friends.
