Derek Dwayne Harrison was a cherished and beloved son, father, brother, uncle, nephew, grandson and cousin. He was born on November 11, 1987, to mother, Pamela Jones and his father, Edward Harrison, Jr. Derek was a loving person with a kind-hearted soul. Derek grew up in the Alief area of Houston, Texas and attended Bonham Elementary School, Ollie Middle School and Alief-Taylor High School. He grew up surrounded by love, laughter, and a deep passion for life, love, God, and family.
Derek was baptized at an early age on May 7, 2002, at Higher Dimension Church, where he attended with his family. He loved to listen to music, dress, shop and play and watch sports, especially basketball, the game he cherished. He enjoyed simple pleasures like chatting with family and friends, and hanging out with his kids whenever possible. He was very smart, detailed-oriented and loved helping others whenever possible. He had a charitable heart and spirit and was the type of person that would take the shirt off of his back without thinking twice. Derek loved family that was one of the most precious things to him beyond anything else. He was determined provide for his family to give them the life he felt they deserved.
Derek was a very motivated person with entrepreneurial ambitions. He loved fashion and cars. His creativity, humor, and kindness touched everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
