On Thursday, November 5, 2020, God saw fit to call Eddie Darnell Fluellen home to be with the Lord. He was affectionately known as “Eddie”, “Flu”, “Rover”, “Sweet Pea”, “Eddie Kane”, “Flukie Dukie”, and “Duke”.
Darnell was born on April 22, 1968. He was the second child born to Herman Fluellen and the late Joyce Petty Boudreaux in Alvin, Texas. Darnell accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Greater New Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Donald Archie. He had a strong love for God and served in a men’s prayer group with close friends.
He attended public schools in Alvin, Texas and graduated from Alvin High School in 1986. He was a stellar athlete who excelled in football, basketball, baseball, and ultimate frisbee. He experienced some college, but later discovered a passion for landscaping.
Flu was a fun-loving spirit who touched so many lives through his kindness and warm smile. He never met a stranger and had a passion for helping people and always finding good in them.
Darnell was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Petty Boudreaux and step-father Renel Boudreaux, III.
He leaves to cherish his memories: Father, Herman Fluellen; Grandmother, Dorothy Petty; Daughters, Brytish and Brittney Fluellen; Son, Seth Langford; Grandchildren, Malia and Zayde Williams; Brother, John Murray; Sisters, Carla Hatch, Monique and Kimberly Fluellen; Nieces, Darshell, Jasmine, and Kayla Hatch; Chelsea and Chasidy Murray; and Bianca Wright; Nephews, Lance Hatch and Carson Murray; and Great-nephew, MJ Phillips; a host of family and friends.
