Effery GREEN, affectionately known as “Blue,” was born on May 3, 1945, in Opelousas, Louisiana, to the late Wilken Green, Sr. and Adeline Thomas-Green. He was raised in a Christian home where faith, hard work, and family were important foundations.
From a young age, Effery worked on his family’s farm, learning the value of labor, responsibility, and perseverance. Later in life, he worked at a steel factory for 17 years, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic.
Effery’s life journey was one of complexity, shaped by both challenges and moments of peace. While he did not always express love or presence in traditional ways, he remained an important part of his family’s story.
He shared incredible moments with the love of his life, Velma Jones, for 37 years.
Effery found peace in fishing and quiet moments by the water. He also loved to joke and could often be found bringing laughter to those around him, enjoying being the life of the party and sharing moments of humor with family and friends.
