Mr. Jessie Watts Obituary

On May 22,1960 the late Dehemerise Harris and James Earl Watts, Sr. were blessed with their sixth born son Jesse Norris Watts in Bogalusa, Louisiana. "Pete" as he was affectionately known by family and friends. His Houston family and friends knew him as "Mississippi."

Jesse spent most of his years in Mississippi, Louisiana and graduated from William B. Murrah High School. He enjoyed playing football as a young man with his long life friends Delria Howard and Ronnie Copper. He worked for a bricking company but later went to school for truck driving. Growing up Jesse always had a passion for 18 Wheeler Trucks.

He was a hard dedicated worker on any job he had. Jesse drove trucks for over 40 years until his health wouldn't allow him to anymore. Jesse was a devoted father to his two children, Jesse Watts, Jr. and Latonya Watts. Jesse later relocated to Houston, Texas where he met his wife Diane Johnson Watts. They had 40 years of a wonderful marriage from the day they meet and they were inseparable. Diane stood by his side and supported him in everything he wanted to accomplish, and was by his side until the very end. Jesse later in life joined Southpark Baptist Church.

Jesse's warm spirit and outgoing nature attracted everyone that knew him and will be missed by many both young and old.

Jesse made his final transition from this earthly life on February 20, 2020.
