Joseph “Joe” Traveon Thompson was born on February 8, 1998, to Quenton C. Thompson and Karen Ann Batiste in Houston, Tx. He was the beloved eldest sibling of two, Cornell Thompson and Aspen Thompson. He accepted Jesus Christ at an early age at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church.
Joe attended J. Frank Dobie High School, where he graduated in 2016. After high school, he chose to further his education and career prospects by enrolling in the Gary Job Corps, a decision that would land him on a path toward a skilled trade. At the Job Corps, Joe pursued a career in HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), where he gained hands-on experience and technical knowledge, and graduated in 2019. Joe began his career alongside his father at AMACS. He was a devoted and loyal employee for several years.
Joe had a deep love for his family friends. He cherished being surrounded by those he cared about. His infectious smile and humor would light up every room he entered. Joe had a unique ability to make people laugh. He was a selfless, good hearted person who often gave to those in need.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather Huey James Batiste Sr. and his uncle Albert Thompson III.
Joseph leaves to cherish his memories of a loving mother Karen Ann Batiste and father Quenton Thompson, siblings, Cornell James Thompson and Aspen Kennedy Thompson, Carmelia Batiste (grandmother), Albert Thompson Jr. and Janice Thompson (grandparents), Huey James Batiste Jr. (uncle) and Theresa Batiste (aunt), Brian Batiste (uncle), Joshua Thompson (uncle) and Keisha Thompson(aunt), Ethdrina Thompson (aunt), Janice Thompson (aunt), Elizabeth Thompson (aunt), Eleana Thompson (aunt), and a host of relatives and friends.
