Mr. Marcus Ray Bert

On March 7, 1987, a son was born to Grace Jones and Ray Anthony Bert in McKinney, Texas. He was later christened by Rachel Eddie and Edward Laday. Marcus was a member of Brentwood Baptist Church of Houston, Texas.

At a early age Marcus showed an interest in music and art, and drawing which he picked up from his uncle Donald Jones. Marcus's love of music continued into his adulthood. He became known to his friends and the music business as, "DJ Detinator"

He was a 2005 graduate of Westside High School in Houston, TX, there he played on the Varsity Football Team. After graduation he attended the Art Institute of Houston where he studied 3D Animation.

Marcus was a loving person who always tried to help others. He is preceded in death by his father Ray, grandparents: Leroy and Dollie Jones, Rev. Earlis and Lois Bert, uncle Errol (Berry) Bert, and Aunt Sharon Jones Dupree.

Marcus leaves to cherish his memories his devoted mother; Grace Jones Theus, stepfather: Johnny Edward Theus, two sisters; Dasha Olivia Bert and Jessica Lynn McColley, brother-in-law Josh McColley, one niece: Annabella Lea McColley, three nephews: Levi, Justus and Silas McColley, seven uncles: Donald Jones, Dwight Jones (Jacqueline), Tony Jones (Bertha), Rev. Gaylon Bert, John Bert, Terry Bert, and Ronald Bert, three aunts: Trina Brown, Kaye Bryant, and Beverly Bert, Godparents Rachel Eddie Coleman and Edward Laday, and a host of relatives and friends.
