Mr. Melvin Booker

Melvin Booker was born on August 14, 1945 to the proud parents of Troy Booker and Adabell Sherman.
Out of their union he was the last of 12 children. Growing up in a Christian home, Melvin accepted
Christ at an early age. He received his formal education at the George Washington Carver Public School
system. During his public school years, Melvin was a formidable athlete, where he played baseball, a
game he loved. Everyone that knew him would say that he was a true sports fan. He loved watching his
favorite teams, the Texans, Rockets, Astros and Boxing.
Melvin had a successful business career. He was the founder and owner of several businesses
throughout his life with the last ones being:
*Nasa Wholesale Barkyard
*Storage House Storage
His entrepreneurship was a badge of honor for him as well as a labor of love.
Thirty three years ago, Melvin met Carolyn Wilson whom he later described as the love of my life and
was united in matrimony on September 15, 2011, where he remained a faithful and loving husband until
his transition to GLORY.
Melvin leaves to treasure his memory; his loving wife Carolyn Wilson Booker; four children Sonja,
Melinda(Lisa), Michelle and Candance, one brother Raymond (Ann), three sisters Rheatha, Olevia and
Lydell (James) two grand children DeAnthony and Ashleigh; two great-grandchildren Jenesis and Jalani;
nieces, and nephews as well as a host of other relatives, family and friends.
Melvin Booker was preceded in death by his father Troy Booker and mother Adabell Booker; six brothers
Leon, Essel, Irvin, Troy Jr., Titus and Herbert; two sisters Carolee and Odessa; one step-daughter Marie.
Melvin took his first breath of Heaven on Saturday, June 22, 2024.
