Mr. Millard Adams II Obituary

Millard Wayne Adams, Jr., made his entrance into the world on a cool fifty-degree day on October 8, 1976, at West Jefferson Hospital in Harvey, Louisiana. He was welcomed at 8:23 a.m. by his mother, Deborah Isabelle Sanders, and father, Millard Wayne Adams, Sr. He dedicated his life to serving others through his love for ministry and natural compassion for God’s people. He was ordained at age 14 and preached his first sermon at Living Word Church. He was a devoted member of Taylor Memorial Baptist Church as a Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He was known for his photogenic smile and generous heart; he touched the lives of everyone he encountered. His siblings and family members will always remember him as intentional, thoughtful, a jokester, and just a phone call away for encouragement. His unwavering faith was a guiding light to his family and community, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Wayne and Keiasha’s paths crossed in 2002 at their place of employment. By chance, Keiasha was placed in Wayne’s department to make up for a late day. The late day became an on-time connection. Wayne was eventually moved to Keiasha’s department, and she playfully “stole” a teddy bear that was on his desk. After marrying Keiasha on August 20, 2006, at the Houston Christian United People’s Center, Wayne stated that “she stole my bear and my heart.” Their love and lives were intertwined around music, reading, writing, and composing. Barnes and Noble’s bookstore was one of their favorite dating spots where they fed off each other’s curiosity for learning. Walking the New Orleans French Quarters was a favorite vacation destination, but wherever they found themselves they gave each other grace to BE and EVOLVE.

Wayne will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to his faith, and his endless kindness to others. His legacy of love, faith, and service will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
