Mr. Raymond Baylor Sr. Obituary

Raymond Baylor was born to Timothy and Myrtle Baylor on March 7, 1947 in Houston, Texas where he grew up and accepted Christ at a young age.

He was a member of South Union Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Bryant. Raymond attended Sunnyside Elementary and graduated from Worthing High School in 1966. He married his longtime friend, Edna Williams in 1967. From this union, two children were born, Trininia Nichole and Raymond II.

Raymond went on to play football at the Texas Southern University until he was drafted into the military from 1968 - 1970 as a Marine where he served in the Vietnam War. Upon returning from the war, he continued to play football at Texas Southern University and from there to the NFL. Raymond played for the Kansas City Chiefs, San Diego Chargers, San Francisco 49ers and the BC Lions of VanCouver, Canada. He coached little league football (Southwest Steers) for 5 years with F.U.N Football.

Raymond was an employee of Armco Steel and enjoyed driving trucks while he and wife, Edna were self employed as Event Planners until his retirement. Raymond was a member of the American Legion, Worthing High School Hall of Fame and was a sharpshooter in the Marines. Raymond loved fishing, hunting and playing dominoes. He was a beautiful kind soul who loved Christ and his family.
