Tony will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the joy he brought into the lives of those who knew him. A proud attendee of Stephen F. Austin High School, he carried that same sense of pride and individuality throughout his life. He found peace in fishing, running his numbers on the lottery, and blasting his music on any given day. He also had a love for capturing moments, often taking pictures to hold on to the memories he cherished. Known to many as “Old Skool,” “T.C.,” and “Top Cat,” Tony carried a strong presence and a spirit that could not be ignored. He spoke his mind with honesty and humor, leaving behind laughter, memories, and moments that will never be forgotten. Though he may no longer be here, the love he gave and the impact he made will live on in the hearts of his family and all who loved him.
Tony was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Curtis Sims; his mother, Helen Sims; his eldest sister, Vicki Sims; his youngest brother, Gregory Sims; and his stepfather, Willie T. Williams, who lovingly raised him.
Tony leaves to cherish his memory by his wife, Irene Marie Sims; his daughter, Camry Breanna Sims; his eldest brother, Donald Sims; his youngest sister, Felicia (Lisa) Sims-Bradley; his stepdaughters, Sharon Salyer, Rachel Hart, and Valerie Ford; his stepson, Henry Ford; and his granddaughter by marriage, Irene Simone Ford, whom he helped raise.
