Mrs. Carrie Chunn Obituary

Carrie L. Chunn June 23, 1959 to December 18, 2025 Carrie L. Chunn departed this life peacefully on December 18, 2025, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her devoted and loving family. Her passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love her. Carrie is lovingly remembered by her sisters, Anita Shelton, Lisa Baldwin, and Erica Baldwin, and her brother, Jerry Baldwin. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Kenny Baldwin and Eric Baldwin, as well as her beloved parents, Curtis Lewis and Annie Mae Baldwin. Carrie was united in holy matrimony to Edward D. Chunn, the love of her life and lifelong companion. She affectionately referred to him as “Baby” or “Doug,” a reflection of the deep bond, love, and companionship they shared throughout their marriage. She leaves to cherish her precious memory her devoted children, Nicole (Stacey)Patterson of Cypress, Texas, Tina Gaines of Houston, Texas, and Derrick Gaines of Cypress, Texas. Carrie was a proud and loving grandmother to sixteen grandchildren and a devoted great grandmother to seven great grandchildren. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. At an early age, Carrie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in her hometown of Star City. Her faith remained an important foundation throughout her life. After relocating to Little Rock, she continued her spiritual journey, worshipping and fellowshipping with various churches as she grew in her walk of faith. Carrie dedicated more than twenty years of faithful service to Levi’s, where she was known for her strong work ethic, dependability, and professionalism. She later continued her career at Dassault Falcon Jet LLC until her well earned retirement. Following retirement, Carrie devoted herself fully to her family, embracing her role as a matriarch with love, grace, and unwavering commitment. She helped raise many of her grandchildren and played an active and nurturing role in the lives of her great grandchildren, leaving a lasting legacy of care, discipline, and unconditional love. Carrie was known for her calm and stately demeanor. She rarely raised her voice, yet her presence alone commanded respect and conveyed authority. She had a warm spirit and a quiet strength that resonated with everyone around her. In her leisure time, she found joy in baking sweets and was always eager to explore new recipes by scrolling through YouTube and Facebook. An exceptional cook, her meals were made with love and brought family together time and time again. Carrie treasured the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed trips to Arkansas, listening to her favorite music, and spending cherished moments on girls’ days with her sisters. Her favorite phrase, “Well, I’ll say,” often lovingly concluded conversations and will forever echo in the memories of those who knew her best. An all around remarkable woman of strength, faith, and dignity, Carrie L. Chunn loved her family deeply and wholeheartedly. Her legacy of love, devotion, and quiet strength will continue to live on through the generations she nurtured and the countless lives she touched.
