Debra Bettina Land was born on September 24, 1956. She was born to Gloria Jean Land (Bosley) and the late Cecil Land Sr. Debra was born and raised in Third Ward on 3607 Sampson Street later and moved and resided in Missouri City. Debra joined Trinity United Methodist Church and accepted Christ at an early age. Her educational path took her from Lockhart Elementary to Ryan Middle School. She later became a proud graduate of Jack Yates High School in the Class of 1975 where she was a twirler for the dance team. Debra received her Bachelor’s Degree from Prairie View A & M University in Accounting. She went on to work in the accounting field for several years and later in life, returned to Prairie View and obtained her nursing degree. Debra was a nurse for over 34 years. Her family lovingly classified her as “Our Family Nurse”.
Love Story
Debra met the love of her life, Reginald Allen at a Halloween Party over 35 years ago and they fell in love.
On May 30, 1987, Debra married Reginald and to this union they had four beautiful children: Marlon Brett, Meghan Peniel, Marissa LeAnne (“Nunie”), and Matthew Levon. Her children were her entire world. Debra always took care of her loved ones. She supported her family and co-workers through the many milestones in their lives. Nothing could ever stand in the way of her showing her endless love. If there was a will, Debra always found a way. Her Family that will cherish forever.

Debra leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 34 years, Reginald Allen; her four beautiful children, her firstborn son Marlon Allen, her two daughters, Meghan and Marissa Allen and her youngest son, Matthew Allen; her mother, Gloria Land Bosley; her -in-laws: Annie and Alfred Allen; her four sisters, Beverly Yvette Baker, Cecilia Joseph (Floyd), Tanya McDuell, Inger Buffington (Keith), and her only brother Cecil Land Jr.; her aunt, Winnie Brown of Oakland, CA; two brothers-in-law, Kevin Allen and Bobby Allen (Monique); a best friend and co-worker Andrea Ogle; her godmother Elizabeth Clow; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, cousins, and friends.
