Denise Highsmith, born in Kingston, Jamaica, to C.Valentine and Yvonne Chong, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Steptember 20, 2025. Growing up in Jamaica alongside her Siblings Jason and Damian Chong, Denise attended Sacred Heart Preparatory School - Christiana and Knox College. Her journey. eventually led her to Miami, Florida, where she graduated from Killian High School.
Denise went on to attend and graduate from the University of Miami where she donned the university's orange and green and met her future husband, Alonzo Highsmith. Together they shared two children, AJ and Jordan, along with Alonzo, Jazmine and Brandon, and built a life filled with love commitment, and unwavering support. Whether attending school events, high school football games, track meets, college game day, of cheering on her family at NFL game days, Denise was a constant presence always there, always giving her all, and somehow always managing to be everywhere at once.
A true perfectionist at heart, Denise approached every detail ofs With life from organizing events to caring for her fail care, precision, and high standards. She poured her energy into everything she touched, never settling for anything less than excellence. Her boundless love, tireless dedication, and unwavering presence touched the lives of all who knew her.
Denise is survived by her husband, Alonzo Highsmith; her children, AJ, Jordan, Alonzo, Jazmine (and her husband, JoRhon Calhoun), and Brandon; and her grandchildren, Cayden Kobe, Kole, Jaxon, and Jalen. She is also survived by her mother, Yvonne Chong, and her brothers, Damian and Jason Chong She was preceded in death by her father, C. Valentine Chong.
Denise's legacy of love, devotion, and family will forever be remembered.
