Mrs. Ernestine Glodine McBride

Ernestine G. McBride aka “Glo” was born January 14, 1931 in Waco, TX to her parents Emma Ruth Harris and Loranzo Smith. Ernestine was the mother of two children, Donald R. Crain (deceased) son and Beverly Carr Blayne, surviving daughter. She also leaves her grand children, Terrance Blayne and wife Lakeysha Berzat-Blayne; Cory Crain; Angela Ridge-Crain and husband Kelvin Ridge. In addition, she leaves great grand children Drake Blayne, Kyesha, Alexis, Korae and Coryn Crain.

Ernestine was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend whom was blessed and full of life. She lived a life that positively impacted many. In fact, Ernestine had a passion and hearts desire to help children and their development through the use of education as highlighted by her many years of service as an educator.  

 Personally, Ernestine achieved her education at Prairie View University with a Bachelorate and Masters degree in Education. Once obtained, Ernestine pursued her passion for teaching by securing her first teaching job in Rosebud, TX. Here, she commuted to and from Waco, TX daily to teach for the next 7 years. From there, Ernestine moved to Houston, TX where she taught at Barrick Elementary for 9 years. Afterwards, Ernestine moved her teaching career to her final teaching destination at Almeda Elementary. There, she taught for an additional 20 years before retiring.  

In her past time, Ernestine traveled the world by plane, cruise ships and by car. In addition, she enjoyed bowling, softball, sewing, reading, watching her soap opera’s and telling others what to do and how to do it. Most knew Ernestine as feisty and sassy.  In addition, Ernestine was an intelligently strong minded individual whom put first things first as shown by her unwavering commitment and devotion to her family and their well being.

Ernestine was called to Heaven on November 25, 2020.  Thank God for his grace, mercy and blessings in the life of Ernestine Glodine McBride. You will always hold a special place in our hearts. You may be gone however your legacy will live forever.
