A TIME TO BE BORN

on the blessed day of October 9, 1951, Esmeralda (Essie) Cuellar was born in San Diego, Texas to the late Emeterio and Maria Luisa Cuellar. She was the first born of 3 Children, including Elias Cuellar & John Damian Cuellar.

A TIME TO LIVE

Esmeralda (Essie) started her life in San Diego, Texas and later moved to Houston, Texas where she spent the rest of her life. She raised two daughters and two nieces, Tina Smith (LeeRoy), Donna Sordia (Benjamin), Jennifer Torres (Tony) and Christina Cuellar. Her great personality will forever be cherished. 

A TIME TO REST

On the morning of June 7, 2019, the angel of death awaited our precious mom/gma Essie. "Remember me with joy and laughter, for that is the way I will remember you." She is preceded in death by her parents, Emeterio M. and Maria Luisa Cuellar, husband, Joe Garza, and Brother Damian Cuellar. 

A TIME OF PEACE

She leaves to cherish loving memories: her daughters, Tina Smith and Donna Sordia; brother, Elias Cuellar; 13 grandchildren, Anthony Grant, April Grant, LeeRoy Smith III, Margarito Seaux, Mark Christopher Gutierrez II, Mary Anthony Sordia, Alyssa Gutierrez, Jameson Smith, Joshua Cuellar, Trinity Torres, Aaron, Elijah Micah and 10 great-grandchildren. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and devoted friends who will always remember her fondly. You will forever be in our hearts.
