Mrs. Ira Fay Obituary

Ira Mae Sellers Fay, a humble servant of God born October 15, 1931 in the village of Powhatan, the Parish of Natchitoches, Louisiana. Ira was the daughter of Henry and Mary Sellers. She found rest with the Lord February 13, 2026 at 94 years of age.

Thirty-three years into the course of Ira’s life journey, she married Albert Fay, February 1965 and they remained together until his passing April 2015. They had fifty years of life together, which included family gatherings, fishing, traveling and many years helping Albert with farming on the Rosharon property.

Ira worked in the food service industry until retirement. She was a member of Christian Faith Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in the choir for many years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Stars since 1987, which is something she was very proud of.

Family, Faith, Friends and community involvement was a big part of her life for many years.  After the loss of her husband, there where a circle of loyal persons from these groups that gave her the much-needed support to continue her life without Albert. She rarely needed to cook, because someone was often bringing her food (her favorite being fish from TP’s Seafood)! Sister Parker from the Eastern Stars kept her loaded with prepared meals.  Ira never had children of her own, but had relationships with many young people from Albert’s family, her church and through other friendships.

At 94, many of Ira’s relatives have passed before her. She was preceded in death by a sister that she loved dearly, Evelyn Borden (who lived in Seattle). Cousins Ruth Love and Carl Williams Doty (in Houston). Dr. Pricilla Conner (Cousin in Calif.) Theresa Harris (Niece in Calif.) and a host of family in the Seattle area. She also had nieces and nephews from her husband’s family that she was close to who made sure she was always celebrated for her birthday and never forgotten during the Holidays.

Many thanks and appreciation to Heavenly Manor Assisted Living, who took excellent care of Aunt Ira during her last five months of life.

Thanks to God for a full life.
