Mrs. Jean Murray Obituary

Jean Murray, beloved daughter of James and Lenora Hughes, wife of Franco Murray peacefully transitioned on January 8, 2026, at the age of 84.

Jean was born on December 22, 1942, in Trinidad and Tobago, in the Northern District of Tobago. She carried her roots with pride and grace throughout her life, embodying strength, wisdom, and quiet leadership.

She was a woman of character and purpose — a great teacher who always led by example. Through her words, actions, and life choices, Jean imparted lessons that extended far beyond the classroom, shaping generations with patience, integrity, and love.

Jean and Franco moved their family from Trinidad and Tobago in the mid 1970s to North America. They became U.S. citizens and traveled the states from Florida to California. Working, exploring and expanding their shared legacy together. Finally settling south of Houston, Texas where the Caribbean-American Murray family grew. Jean and Franco took pride in keeping the culture and lineage of the family strong.

Together with Franco; Jean was the devoted mother of three children ( Marcia Murray-Flintroy, Heston Murray and Seldon Murray) and leaves behind a host of grandchildren (Lakeisha Murray, Rashedah Flintroy, Antoinette Murray-Jackson, Darren Murray & Hakeem Murray-Thomas) fourteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of her legacy. Her influence will continue to live on through her family and all those who were blessed to know her.

Jean Murray will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the life she lived, the values she taught, and the love she gave so freely.
