Oraline Gill Kissentaner was born December 14, 1942, to the union of James Gill and Maxine McMurray in Dubach, Louisiana. She was the eldest of 9 children.
Oraline attended Lincoln High School in Ruston, Louisiana. She later relocated to Houston, Texas and completed her education at Jack Yates High School. She furthered her education at Texas Southern University, where she studied Psychology.
Oraline was employed as a component assembly worker at Texas Instruments, where she retired after many years of service. She spent her retirement doing what she loved: cooking, traveling, studying scripture, and watching her Houston Rockets compete. She also enjoyed quality time with her family.
On Sunday, December 25, 2022, Oraline made her journey into God's loving arms. She is preceded in death by her mother, Maxine McMurray; father, James Gill; stepfather, Elton McMurray; sister, Darlene Gill James; and son, Baxter Gill.
Oraline leaves to cherish her memory sons, James Gill (Quanda) and Todd Gill (Kim); nine siblings, Vivian Franklin (Greg), Charles McMurray, Terry McMurray (Michelle), Michael McMurray, Gaye Gill (Annette), Josephine Watts (Junior), Modesta Gill, Althea Gill and Mary Sweat; grandchildren, Shalonda Kaylynn, Keenan, Kindred, Lauren, Morgan, Colby, Mariah and Kalvyn; great-grandchildren, Siauna, Mia, Morgan, Daniel Jr., and Kanan Baxter; host of family and friends.
