Mrs. Tommie Jarmon Obituary

In Loving Memory of Tommie Jean Jarmon
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:23

With heavy hearts but unwavering hope in Christ, we announce that Tommie Jean Jarmon, age 74, of Richmond, Texas, entered into eternal rest on July 14, 2025. She was surrounded by the love and prayers of her family as she peacefully transitioned from this life to glory, following a courageous battle with cancer. Even in her final days, Tommie’s faith never wavered—she clung to God’s promises and walked in grace until the very end.

Tommie was born on May 21, 1951, in New Iberia, Louisiana, to Lucille Jacquet and Thomas Baber (Barber). She was lovingly raised by her grandmother, Evelyn Johnson-Jacquet, who nurtured in her a strong foundation of faith, discipline, and perseverance. Tommie graduated from Jonas Henderson Senior High School in 1969 and continued her education at Southwestern Louisiana Institute, where she earned her associate’s degree.

Tommie dedicated over 27 years of service in the technology industry, holding roles at Texas Instruments and Southwestern Bell (AT&T), where she ultimately retired as an IT Engineer. She worked diligently and carried herself with integrity and excellence—an example of Colossians 3:23 in action: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.”

Beyond her professional life, Tommie’s true joy was her family. She was a devoted mother, a loving grandmother known affectionately as “Duchess,” a cherished sister, and a loyal friend. She was a quiet pillar of strength, a compassionate soul, and a faithful woman of prayer. Her wisdom, warmth, and gentle spirit touched the lives of many.

Tommie leaves behind a legacy of love and faith in her children: Nataesha Hill (Adrain) of Dickinson, Texas, Jarvis Barber (NaTarsha)of Houston, Texas, Nariosha Belle of Richmond, Texas and bonus daughter Denise Belle of Cypress, Texas. She was a proud and adoring grandmother to Porchea Taylor (Vasi), Jalea Hill, Kyra Clark, Paris Barber, Jalen Barber, Destiny Barber, Keira Barber, Glamour Barber, Jarvis Barber Jr., and spiritual mother to many. Her presence was a blessing in the lives of her siblings: Lucille “Fretta” Jacquet, Elnora Smith, Sheral Iles, Paulette Cormier-Jones, Addie Thomas, and cousin-siblings Rose Broussard-Harvey (Dwight) and Glen Williams (Linda). She also shared a special bond with her beloved God-daughter, Willeshia Carraway (Jeremy). Tommie’s extended family of nieces, nephews, and close friends will continue to cherish her memory.

She now joins her parents, brothers Homer Joseph Barber and Theapolis James Jacquet, and many beloved family members who preceded her in death. We rejoice in knowing that she is now reunited with them, singing praises and basking in the glory of the Lord.
