Wanda Gail Godine Alix, the fifth of nine children born to the late Pastor Lewis Christopher and First Lady Cozette (Turner) Godine on September 28, 1956.
She attended Grimes elementary school and Albert Thomas Jr High, finishing her studies at Job Corps Career Training Center.
Being was raised in a Christian household setting. She was actively attending services, especially singing in the choir, and did accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Throughout her life, the Lord had gifted her to become a powerhouse soprano vocalist and skilled pianist within the gospel community, amongst those who knew her. She served for years as the Music of Minister under her late father's pastoral leadership at Greater Union Baptist Church.
Wanda pursued many different job positions in the hospitality industry (food and restaurant), excelling in skills to holding management positions.
On April 6, 1972 she married Cornelius 'Glenn" Alix Sr., and they became as one family.
Wanda made her final transition from this earthly life to the glorious heavens with Christ on Thursday, October 30, 2025. She is preceded in death by her father and mother Rev. L. C. and Mrs. Cozette Godine; brothers, Lewis and Anthony Godine; sister, Pamela Godine Lamb; nephews, William James Whitfield, Jermaine Godine and Demond Shepard.
Leaving to cherish her memories with love and devotion are Husband -- Cornelius "Glenn" Alix Sr.; Daughters -- Chekita Alix-Joseph, Carmen Alix, Demetria Whatley (Dedrick) Conchetta Richard; Sons -- Carlton Richard III (Ashley), Frederick Brock Jr. (Ann); Cordelro Richard (Desiree); LaDavion "Buck" Richard and Caterus Richard; Sisters -- Patsy Godine, Juanita Godine, Sonja Godine-Minger (Floyd) and CharmaineGodine; Brother -- Donald Ray Godine.
She boasts by number 19 Grandchildren and 11 Great-Grandchildren; more than 20 nieces and nephews and 15 great nieces and nephews. She had many friends that loved her dearly as she will be truly missed.
