Ms. Yolanda White Obituary

Yolanda Yvette was born on January 18, 1969 to Calvin Lemark and Bobbie Rodgers Lemark. They divorced when Yolanda was a toddler and she was adopted by her mother's second husband, Willis Jackson White. She also gained three siblings, Jack, Willis and Wanda.

Yolanda was raised in the North Houston area (Heather Glen). She attended Sammons Elementary, Shotwell Middle School, and Eisenhower High School in Aldine ISD.

She was baptized at an early age at New Mt. Carmel Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. C.A. Berry. As a child she was active in the Starlight band, BYPU, which later began the BTU, Jr. Usher board and youth choir.

As a young adult Yolanda could always be found babysitting or caring for young children, and helping others.

In 1988, Yolanda was united in marriage to Michael T. Jackson to this union no children were born.

On November 27, 1999, Yolanda gave birth to a beautiful baby boy and named him Derrick Felix Williams, Jr.

Yolanda never forgot her roots and soon returned to live in the north Houston area, specifically the acres home community. Yolanda loved to talk and socialize with anyone she met, no one was a stranger. She raised her son in this community, and he also attended schools in Aldine ISD. During this time, she reconnected with several childhood friends and met and befriended several in the community by helping them along the way.

Yolanda's desire to help others transcended over into her home health career path and she began working as a caregiver. During this time, she was able to help several individuals.

In 2010, Yolanda's compassion to help others led her to adopt a young boy, D'Andre Taylor.

Yolanda was preceded in death by her father Willis Jackson White.
