Pastor Bryan Donovan Norsworthy
Pastor Bryan Donovan Norsworthy was born in Kirbyville, Texas to the late Pastor I.W. and Mrs. Ruth Norsworthy. He is the youngest of 6 children born to this union. He accepted Christ at an early age. He was baptized at Dixie Missionary Baptist Church in Jasper, Texas by Pastor I.W. Norsworthy.
Bryan graduated from Kirbyville High School in 1979. He attended Sam Houston State University but later graduated from Lamar University with a degree in Industrial Electronic Technology. He was employed by AT&T in 2000 as a Systems Specialist Technician where he worked for the past 19 years. His prior work was with Jasper Newton Electic in Kirbyville, Texas for 20 years.
Bryan Received his call to the Gospel Ministry on October 2, 1998. He studied at the College of Biblical Studies and received his Minister's license on March 13, 2000, and was Ordained as Pastor in 2004. He was the Founder of the Rev. I.W. Norsworthy Scholarship Fund Incorporated in 1998. This organization was very successful in giving scholarships to Christian youths regardless of denomination or race. Bryan was also the Vice President of the Trinity Bay Vocation Institute which was established in October 2018 with classes beginning in January 2019.
Bryan met Benita in March of 1989, and they became inseparable. Bryan and Benita were married February 14, 1991, and moved to Houston They immediately began searching for a church home and eventually joined Bethel's Family Baptist Church, Houston, Texas. In 2004 Bryan became Pastor of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Buna, Texas where he served as Pastor for 3 years. After serving in Buna they returned to Bethel's Family Baptist Church and continued their work in many ministries (serving as the Single's Ministry Director, Youth Home Group Leaders, Global Outreach in Kenya and Pre-Marital counseling class facilitators) faithfully sharing the same vision of God first, and encouraging others how to live up to their full potential in Christ.
Bryan was preceded in death by his Father, Pastor I.W. Norsworthy, Mother, Mrs. Ruth Norsworthy, and brother, Mr. John Norsworthy, and he will happily join them at the gates of Heaven.
Bryan's surviving relatives include his wife, Benita Norsworthy, Daughter, Neichelle Smith, Sons, Royce Norsworthy, Clayton Allen, and Aaron Allen Sr. (LaToia), his Sisters and Brothers and their spouses, Karen Norsworthy of Anchorage, Alaska, Beverly Adjei of Houston, Texas, Ethel and Ed Shelton of Texas City, Texas, Rodney and Terrya Norsworthy of Jasper, Texas, Marilyn and Frank Plugerville, Texas and Grandchildren Kayla, Brandon, Ryann, Aaron, Jr., Andre, Jr., Kynzlee, Aden, and Arya; Godmother Doris Patterson (Mama Dee) of Houston, TX, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
